The Recital Final Show

The RecitalAfter ten years of circulation in the Detroit music scene, the Recital will play its farewell show on December 4th. Along for the ride is psychedelic pop outfit Zoos of Berlin and experimental rock/pop group Thunderbirds are Now. During the show, the Recital will be handing out digital copies of their final recordings titled The Succulent Leftovers E.P. Infectiously poppy and technically sound, the Recital’s breed of pop and experimental rock features crafty drums behind sweeping, ambient strings accompanied by deep, down to earth vocals. A constantly changing beat that takes on a life of its makes the Recital a rock outfit highly deviant from constraints of conventional indie rock.

Celebrating ten years of creative, catchy as hell music, the Majestic Cafe will host the farewell event for a long running Detroit outfit. The Succulent Leftover E.P. perfectly captures the progression from start to finish of a band who helped sow the seeds and nurture a progressive rock movement within the city. The opening track “Too Close for Captain” is a perfectly constructed power pop track, while later tracks including “Colony of Windmills” and “Drop Those Legs” emit a vibe of quirky indie pop. Get your paws on some free music and witness three breakthrough progressive acts of Detroit for only $6.
