Detroit Concert Weekend Planner

by Aaron on 12/04/2009

December is still in its infancy, and Detroiters will face their first bout of arduous window scraping the realization that the unseasonably nice weather has been struck down by nature’s wrath. Traversing Michigan without treachery will soon fade to memory and driving to each subsequent show will be a test of faith. See some of these shows before the weather gets too horrendous, this may be the last safe drive to a Detroit concert until March.

Emilie Autumn @The Crofoot

A perfect blend of music and theatrics gushing with cabaret and electronica, Emilie Autumn is a true sight to behold on stage. The violin player is well known for her eclectic music style and enthralling violin playing. Similar to Tori Amos in her classical music education conflicting with her unorthodox style, Autumn has had a long standing cult following and is recently poking through to underground stardom. The daughter of a seamstress, she makes her own extravagant costumes, offers a style unlike any other musician, and leaves listeners unable to quite know what to make of her performance. A strange one indeed, her haunting stage show and wide range of artistic talent is not to be missed.
