Detroit electronic prodigy Deastro

Deastro is the stage name of the young Randolph Chabota and Adam Pfaff. Their music is a rich blend of pop beats and rich, ambient instrumentals creating an airy and incredibly textured sound. Chabota began making electronic music at age 13, and released his first record that year despite the disapproval of his mother. He studied youth development in college and dropped out to pursue music full time.

He formed an electro band called Veleciraptor, which inspired the ideas for his current synthesized projects: Our Brother The Megazord and Deastro, which try to blur the lines between electronic and acoustic music. All the music is made in Randolph’s Detroit basement with the help of sampled children’s toys and synthesizers.

Since Chabota was 17, he has had a vision of what he wanted his music to sound like. By that age he had written hundreds of songs and simply wasn’t satisfied with their sound. He describes the sound playing in his head as a space symphony-the most beautiful thing he had ever heard. The drive of the young artist is present in every single one of his tracks. Spanning countless genres that are only loosely define, songs never stay in one place for long; constantly changing, constantly evolving, and creating a style of music that can only be described as completely unique.

Not content with just being a musician, Chabota is constantly at a state of reflection which his music conveys to anyone willing to listen. Coming from a family full of artists, his connection to the world around him and constant need to create has led to his vast collection of deep music which he uses to cope with pain and share his introspection with listeners. Deastro is real music having to do with real shit, from a completely real individual. One does not have to look very far to realize that the music of Chabota is far from a put-on, but an experience and artistic expression of someone who would love nothing more than to share it with interested listeners.
