Hard Lessons
Formed in an East Lansing dorm room, the Hard Lessons consists of husband and wife duo Augie and Korin Louise Visocchi. They began recording songs on a four track, recruited a drummer, won some loot at local battles of the bands, self released a 45, went on tour, and the rest as they say is history. Known for their eclectic music style and energetic performances, the Hard Lessons feature instruments including fuzz bass, mandolin, piano, kazoo, percussion, vacuum vocals, synthesizers, Hammond organ bass, autoharp, glockenspiel, and cornet. Shortly after their first tour, they became one of the most buzzed about bands in the Midwest.
The Hard Lessons found themselves on the cover of virtually every free rag in their area including Metro Times and Real Detroit Weekly. Plans for the soon to be teachers were put on hold due to their popularity which was accelerating at a ridiculous pace. The Hard Lessons were called to open for such groups including Iggy and the Stooges and Wolfmother. From the dorm to national stardom in a short period of time, the Hard Lessons have recently had their track “Wedding Ring” featured on Grey’s Anatomy and their song “Wicked Man” featured on Friday Night Lights. It’s safe to say that the Hard Lessons aren’t going away anytime soon.
They recently released their latest album titled “Arms Forest” on Quack Media.
