With acts from all around the world, the Crofoot Ballroom has become one of the hotspots to catch a show in Pontiac. Local and national events have played the Crofoot and it has become one of the go to places for independent shows. Music fans will look at the Crofoot lineup and say to themselves “wow I thought that band would have played a bigger venue”. Cheap prices and a great setup with multiple venues rolled into one means that the Crofoot accommodates all different types of music and throws one hell of a party.
Encompassing almost an entire square block of downtown Pontiac, the Crofoot, Pike Room, Eagle Theater, and so on is a great place to see some of the moderately popular underground acts from all around the world. Nobody in the area is quite sure where the Crofoot came from, but since its inception, the place has made downtown Pontiac quite a scene for the underground music industry in the Detroit metro area. The soundsystem is top of the line and the venue is just big enough to enjoy a show from the outskirts or to have your eardrums permanently damaged, depending on how you enjoy your live music.
The Breeders, Dinosaur Jr., and the Jesus Lizard are some of the indie rock giants to appear at the Crofoot in the midst of the rock venue resurrection of Pontiac. The drinks are slightly overpriced, but they make up for it by offering dirt cheap tickets to some of the biggest names in the underground scene. The Crofoot Ballroom just gave you another excuse besides Erebus to visit downtown Pontiac.
